Seoul Anglican Cathedral
대한성공회 서울주교좌성당
Cathedral · Arthur Stansfield Dixon · 1926 (completed 1996) · Jung-gu
Address: 서울 중구 세종대로21길 15
A Romanesque Revival cathedral behind Deoksugung, designed by the English architect Arthur Dixon with round arches, heavy stone and tiled roofs. Money ran out in the 1920s, so it stood unfinished for seventy years; it was extended to Dixon's original design only in 1991–96. Inside, look for the mosaic in the apse.
Getting in: Working church next to the British Embassy, a few minutes from City Hall Station exit 3. Visitors can usually look in Monday to Saturday outside services; the English-language service is on Sunday morning in the crypt.
