Hanok tea house · Designed by its owner, the novelist Lee Tae-jun · 1933 · Seongbuk-gu

Address: 서울 성북구 성북로26길 8

The 1933 hanok of the novelist Lee Tae-jun, who planned it himself as his study and home. It keeps its garden, wooden verandas and small rooms, and now works as a traditional tea house, so you can sit inside a 1930s writer's house rather than look at it from a rope line.

Getting in: Tea house; take your shoes off at the step. Busy at weekends. 15 minutes' walk or a short bus ride from Hansung University Station.

A lesser-known building that architecture fans seek out; facts from the pages under Sources, summary written by us.
