Seoul Forest to Salgoji Bridge
A racecourse turned park, the stream path and a 15th-century stone bridge
≈1.8 km · ≈25 min walking · Easy · Seongdong-gu · Start: Seoul Forest station · End: Hanyang Univ. station
Walk through Seoul Forest, laid out in 2005 on old racecourse and golf course land, follow the Jungnangcheon stream north past the cycle paths, and cross Salgoji Bridge, the longest surviving stone bridge from the Joseon period.
Stops
- Seoul Forest (서울숲)
A 1.2 km² park opened in 2005 on the old Ttukseom racecourse. It has woodland, wetlands, a deer enclosure and lawns, and is a short walk from the Seongsu café streets. - Salgoji Bridge (살곶이다리)
A granite slab bridge over the Jungnangcheon, finished in 1483 and listed as a national Treasure. Its 64 stone columns are set low so that floods pass over it; you can still walk across.
Best time: A spring or autumn morning, before the park fills with picnics.
Tips
- Seongsu (walk 11) is next door: combine them for a full day.
- The stream path is shared with cyclists; keep to the walking side.
Access
Level, paved park paths. Salgoji Bridge itself is a 15th-century stone bridge with uneven slabs and no railings.
